Although MUSIC projects are typically setup using the MUSIC graphical user interface, two options are available for importing MUSIC projects from external filesyou can also import MUSIC projects as .msf file:
MUSIC Setup File (*.msf)
MUSIC Setup Files (*.msf) are text-based files that can be developed in any external text editor or spreadsheet software. Unlike the *.sqn sqz file, *msf can be developed independently of MUSIC as the described here. This makes the *.msf particularly useful for automatically creating MUSIC projects using third party software.
Once a *.msf has been developed, ensuring that it adheres to file format requirements, the file can be imported into MUSIC by selecting Create Model » Import/Export and selecting Import - msf from the drop down menu.
In addition to allowing the import of *.msf files, MUSIC can export any existing model in *.msf format. This allows model inputs to be reviewed in a text-based format and can also provides a text-based template for the development of similar, future MUSIC models (which can subsequently be imported using the procedure described above). To export an existing project to *.msf format, select Create Model » Import/Export and selecting Export - msf from the drop down menu.
Excel Setup Script (*.csv)
Excel Setup Scripts (*.csv) are text - based files that employ the same file format as *. msf files. The CSV extension is provided to allow more efficient integration with Excel.
The file can be imported into MUSIC by selecting Create Model » Import/Export and selecting Import - Excel from the drop down menu.
In addition to allowing the import of *.csv files, MUSIC can export any existing model in *.csv format. This allows model inputs to be reviewed in Excel and can also provides an Excel-based template for the development of similar, future MUSIC models (which can subsequently be imported using the procedure described above). To export an existing project to *.csv format, select Create Model » Import/Export and selecting Export - Excel from the drop down menu.
