Annual descriptive statistics

Annual descriptive statistics allow you to compare a single result from multiple runs.

To generate annual descriptive statistics, right click on a result in the tree menu and select Statistics » Annual Descriptive Statistics.

Figure

...

1 shows annual descriptive statistics for a single result:

  • The upper left pane shows the overall statistical data;
  • The upper right pane allows you to select the relevant run(s); and
  • The table at the bottom shows the resulting statistical data on an annual basis.

The updated Annual Descriptive Statistics feature allows users to compare a single result across multiple runs. The recent update introduces a checkbox tree control to simplify the selection of top-level runs and sub-runs, making it easier to handle larger datasets or complex replicate analysis jobs.

Generating Annual Descriptive Statistics for the Results from Replicate Analysis

To generate Annual Descriptive Statistics, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click on a result in the tree menu.
  2. Select Statistics » Annual Descriptive Statistics.

The updated interface (illustrated in Figures 2-5

...

Image Removed) includes several improvements that make it easier to select and analyze multiple runs, including replicate run and sub run. The Annual Descriptive Statistics interface consists of three key sections:

  1. Upper Left Pane: Displays overall statistical data for the selected runs.
  2. Upper Right Pane: Features a checkbox tree control for selecting or deselecting both top-level runs and sub-runs within a replicate analysis job and command buttons for sections and recalculation for selected items.
  3. Bottom Pane: Shows the annual statistical data for the selected runs.

Selecting Runs Using the New Checkbox Tree Control

The major update is the introduction of a checkbox tree control in the Upper Right Pane, allowing more intuitive navigation and selection of multiple runs and sub-runs.

Key Features:

  • Checkbox Tree Structure: The tree expands to show both top-level runs and their associated sub-runs, making it easier to select the exact runs to analyze.
  • Select/Deselect Runs: Use the checkboxes to select or deselect specific runs or sub-runs.
  • Search Bar: Allows users to quickly find runs or sub-runs by typing part of their name.

Quick Select Options:

  • Select None: Deselects all the runs in the tree, shown in Figure 2.
  • Select All Unique Runs: Automatically selects all unique runs, shown in Figure 3.

This structured breakdown aligns each scenario with the relevant figure, making it easier for users to understand and follow the different functionalities available in the Annual Descriptive Statistics interface.

Scenario 1: Select None (Figure 2)

In this scenario, the Select None option is used, and the interface is reset so that no runs are selected. This option allows users to start from scratch when configuring which runs they want to analyze.

  • Select None
Figure 2 shows the checkbox tree control with no runs selected, allowing users to manually choose runs or sub-runs from the available options. The statistics results are empty after clicking on Recalculate button.

Scenario 2: Select All Unique Runs (Figure 3)

This scenario showcases the use of the Select All Unique Runs option. By selecting this, users can automatically choose all unique runs in the dataset, making the process faster when dealing with large or complex analyses.

  • Select All Unique Runs
Figure 3 demonstrates the interface after all unique runs have been selected. It helps eliminate the need for manually selecting each run one by one, especially useful for larger datasets.

Scenario 3: Manual Selection Across Multiple Scenarios (Figure 4)

In this scenario, users manually select specific runs and sub-runs across different scenarios using the checkbox tree. This allows for more control and customization when analyzing data, especially when dealing with multiple scenarios or complex replicate analysis jobs.

  • Manual Selection Across Scenarios
Figure 4 demonstrates how users can manually select specific runs and sub-runs across multiple scenarios, giving flexibility in comparing different sets of data.

Recalculate Statistics (Figure 5)

In this scenario, after selecting the desired runs, the user can recalculate the statistical results. This feature is particularly useful for updating the results based on the selected parameters or after any changes in the selected runs.

  • Recalculate Statistics
Figure 5 shows the recalculation process. Once the runs are selected, click on the Recalculate button, which will become inactive. The results in the bottom pane are refreshed, showing the updated annual descriptive statistics for the chosen runs.
