  1. Per Network Element:
    1. Water Ownership - pre-timestep calculations
    2. Off Allocation: Generate additional release requests
    3. The wetland cluster that the element belongs to is solved for this time-step.
    4. Execute element flow phase calculations
    5. Water Ownership - post-timestep calculations, and colouring of water
    6. Calculate Constraint Factors for element
    7. Constituent modeling is executed.

Generate Additional Release Requests

The off-allocation impact on the desired release down each outlet of the storage is calculated in the flow phase. For this reason, an extra calculation is undertaken (called the pre-flow phase), which informs the storage of any extra releases that need to be made to satisfy the off-allocation requests further downstream.

Its not until the flow phase at a storage that we can calculate the off allocation impact on the desired release down each outlet of the storage.  Due to this, we run an extra 'pre-flow phase' calculation which informs the storage of any extra releases that will need to be made to satisfy the off allocation requests that have to be met for downstream users.  For more information...

Ownership

Once the flow calculations have been completed for a node or link, and extra process needs to be completed which 'colours' the water into ownership buckets.   There are occasions when the node or link will need to collect data before the flow is calculated, which is why there is an extra step before the flow calculations.  For more information....

Flow Phase Calculations

Constraint Factors

Every link and node contains a constraint factors (referred to as the flow to order ratio) which is used to diagnose shortfalls in the system. These shortfalls are used by some nodes to redistribute future order.

At each node and link we calculate a 'flow to order' ratio, which is called a constraint factor.  This factor is used to diagnose shortfalls in the system.  These shortfalls are used by some nodes to redistribute future orders - if possible.  For more information .....
