The Source Modelling CommunityBeta space was created in response to an identified need by Source modellers for a way to develop, validate, and disseminate good modelling practice, as well as help each other solve every day problems and share ideas. By contributing to this space, you will also be helping to organise, upgrade and distribute knowledge that the Source Modelling Community can use in modelling practice.

Our online presence mainly consists of two basic tools, the Knowledge Pool which is a forum and the Source Modelling Community Home, a wiki type space hosted on the Confluence platform. These tools provide mechanisms for knowledge gathering, exchange and generation, which occurs as a result of interaction and relationship building between participants. We envisage the forum will be used for initiating discussions, problem solving, and general conversational style interactions. The Source Modelling Community Home is for generating and organising larger volumes of information which may be useful to refer to at a later date or you think may be useful for other modellers (to get you on your way, we've created a Getting Started section). Community interactions can occur in either of these places,or somewhere else entirely, the important thing is that you as community members are interacting in a way that is useful and meaningful for yourselves.
