In the Node Model detailed descriptions, each node model input and output has a link type listed. The table below summarises these connection rules in one place. This table shows the allowed connections between a source node, and a destination node.

To use this table, look up the originating node in the left-most column, then the output you want to connect (the destination node).Example: from a roof node, you can connect the runoff output to a buffer, but not the runoff to tank output.

This table shows the allowed connections between a source node, and a destination node. The Destination node column specifies which output of the source node can connect to the nodes below it. If a node is not listed in the Destination Node column, the connection is not permitted. For example, the Roof node's Runoff to Tank output can connect to a Tank node's Rainwater / Stormwater Tank inflow, but not an Average an Average Water Use node's Rainwater / Stormwater inflow.

** Recycled Water is also available in the User Interface, but is not currently connected for the Tank node

User Interface

Figure 1 illustrates the connection combinations available on a Runoff link between a Roof node (origin) and a Tank node (destination).

A Runoff to Tank Rate and a Bypass Runoff Rate are output from a Roof node. These are mapped to a Tank node via the Runoff link between the Roof node and a connected Tank node. Runoff to Tank and Bypass Runoff are both outputs from the Roof node, with their relative amounts determined by the Percentage of Roof Connected to Tank option in the Roof node interface.

Multiple connection combinations are supported by using the Add the Add button.

Figure 2 illustrates the connection combinations available on a Demand link between a Tank node (origin) and a Water Use node (destination). The configuration of this link will provide water to each end-use on the Water Use node, according to the priorities set at the node.

Multiple connection combinations are supported by using the Add button.
