Version 1 Current »

Beta release 4.2.2 has focused on improved representation of crops within catchments, enhanced drawing tools and data locking.

Crop Modelling and Agricultural Runoff within Catchments

Rain-fed crops can now be represented in a /wiki/spaces/SD41/pages/25821821 within the catchment simulation. The agricultural runoff model represents the crop and agricultural runoff as part of the rainfall-runoff process. The daily crop water balance is based on the /wiki/spaces/SD41/pages/25821589 and the method described in FAO56 (Allen et al, 1998). It models a daily soil water deficit generated from crop growth, and generates runoff for the functional units. Crop use of water from small storages in catchments can be represented by /wiki/spaces/SD41/pages/25822045 (also known as check dams in some countries) within the agricultural runoff model.  A number of the model parameters can be calibrated alongside other rainfall runoff models using the /wiki/spaces/SD41/pages/25821888.

Catchment “Draw network” method extended to include additional nodes and links

The draw network method of catchment definition will now allow you to specify more than one node per sub-catchment in a shape file. This allows you to add additional nodes at different locations, for example breaking up links for the purposes of calibration. Sub-catchment runoff is fed into links as follows.

  1. Headwater (leaf) catchments will have flow attached to the first link with an end point in the catchment
  2. Catchments with a single inflow will have flow attached to the first link with an end point in the catchment
  3. Catchments with multiple inflow links will have flow attached to the last link wholly contained within the sub-catchment or, if that link is above a confluence of 2 or more links, to the link exiting the catchment.

Locking Data Sources and Functions

Data Source inputs can now be locked to usages in Source to prevent accidental reassignment. This has been available for /wiki/spaces/SD41/pages/25821443 for some time, and has been extended in 4.2.2 to cover data sources.

More options for plugin developers

Plugins that have their own scenario runner can now have configuration screens in WPF rather than just in Winforms.

Insight

To run Insight, you also need to install the 32bit version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package.
This installer is for both 32bit machines and 64bit machines since the library we use is 32bit: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86).
