Exporting MEF File
MUSIC export file (MEF) is a new type of exchange file that includes all model components, allowing it to be imported into MUSICX as a complete model. Unlike the MSF file, the MEF file cannot be imported back to MUSIC6. The functionality has been available since MUSIC version 6.4 and MUSICX version 1.40.
The MEF file is a binary file, which means it cannot be reviewed using a text editor, and its file format is not publicly accessible.
The user can use the tool Input/Export under the menu Create Model to export the MEF file (Figure 1). By selecting the MEF option under the Export label, users can specify a file name and location. A progress bar will then display the export status and confirm successful completion. Since the MEF file exports the entire model, the process takes longer than that for the corresponding MSF file.

The exported MEF file can be inputted in MUSICXÂ Â as a complete run model.
Please note that some definitions of model components in MUSICX have been modified, including storage routing in a link. As a result, MUSICX will issue a warning message and will not import these components. Additionally, certain MUSIC link templates have been slightly altered, so MUSICX may generate reports that differ slightly from those produced by MUSIC 6 for those specific MUSIC link models.

If you have several MUSIC 6 SQZ files that require conversion to MEF files, you can bulk export them. Please refer to this guide for the process.
