Configuring Scenarios

To run a scenario, follow these steps:

  • Select the outputs you are interested in by recording the parameters:

-  Some model outputs (Mean Annual Load, Node Water Balance and Treatment Train Efficiency) are selected by default; these can be turned off by right-clicking on the Scenario's name and selecting Record None.

  • Click Configure on the Simulation toolbar as shown below:

  • You will be presented with the MUSICX configuration window as shown below:

                        -  You can now choose the Included Climate Data to run your model with the available templates.

                        -  You can also provide a climate template: a .mlb file from MUSIC 6 or a .mct file from MUSICX by clicking on the Template Climate Data tab.

- You can also provide your own data by clicking on the Custom Climate Data tab. You can import rainfall and evaporation data in various format (.CSV, .TXT, .CSV, etc.).

  • Run with Warmup: This specifies a ‘warm-up period’ for source nodes of a rainfall runoff model. When enabled, this option will ‘pre-run’ the rainfall-runoff model for the first 12 months of the simulation period, in order to equilibrate the initial storage states (pervious area and groundwater) in the model. The warm-up option will only operate when the total period of simulation is greater than 12 months.

  • Once you specify the data, you can run the model for the entire time period by clicking on Match Data Period or adjusting the Start Date and the End Date within a valid time range as needed. If the model needs to run at time steps higher than those in the provided rainfall data, you can modify the Time Step in the MUSICX configuration window. Then, click Run on the Simulation toolbar to start the simulation run.

A progress bar, as shown below, indicates running times during a scenario run.
